The daughter of a woman murdered in Dorset eight years ago says she has not given up hope of getting justice.Caitlin Barnett was 11 when she and her brother found Heather at their home in Bournemouth. She had been mutilated and had hair strands put in her hand.
Caitlin said it was the worst day of her life but hoped new developments could lead to her mother's killer.
Last month, police in Italy found the remains of a woman whose death could be linked to the case.
Caitlin said: "It was the most unexpected thing that could possibly happen to someone, the most traumatic thing that could happen to anyone, especially to an 11 and 14-year-old.
"It was just a complete and utter shock, horrifying shock.
'Overwhelming panic'
"It has changed the person I am now, it has made me more cautious of people."
She had returned from school to the family home in Capstone Road, Charminster, with her brother on 12 November, 2002.
"We thought it would be funny to knock on the front door to see if she would answer because we knew she would probably be working.
"She didn't answer but we didn't think anything of it. "I opened the bathroom door and there she was, just lying on the floor completely lifeless.
"I couldn't understand what had happened, I was overwhelmed with panic."
An investigation by Dorset Police has so far not brought any charges.
But officers in Italy are investigating the recent discovery of the remains of a woman whose death may be linked to the case.
The body found in a church in Potenza last month is thought to be of Elisa Claps, aged 16, who has been missing since 1993.
Italian police believe one of the last people to see Miss Claps alive was Danilo Restivo, who lived in the same town in Italy.
Mr Restivo, who now lives in Charminster, Bournemouth, has also been questioned by Dorset Police over Heather Barnett's murder. He has consistently denied knowing anything about either case.
Caitlin Barnett added: "If there is one person that is responsible for two innocent ladies dying I don't know how they can sleep at night, because I don't.
"Someone, somewhere is living with this information.
