
A 13-year-old boy has appeared before magistrates in Newcastle charged with the murder of an asylum seeker.Papa Mody Mbaye, 30, and from Senegal, died in hospital on 15 February, three days after being found with a brain injury in Hugh Gardens, Benwell.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded in secure local authority accommodation until 20 April.
Two other boys, aged 17 and 15, were previously charged with murder and have been remanded in custody.
