    Four killed, one injured in crash

    Four men were killed and a fifth seriously injured when a car left the road and collided with a tree.The crash happened on the A4229 in Bridgend county between Porthcawl and the Grove Golf Club at South Cornelly just before midnight on Thursday.

    South Wales Police said the men killed were from Hampshire. The other victim's injuries were said to be serious but not life threatening.

    Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

    Police said in a statement: "Early indications are that the vehicle, a silver-coloured Vauxhall Vectra, has lost control, left the carriageway and collided with a tree."
