David Cameron struck by an egg

Conservative leader David Cameron has been hit by an egg apparently thrown by a construction student. Mr Cameron was out campaigning in Saltash, Cornwall, when he was struck on the shoulder.

BBC political correspondent Carole Walker said the egg was thrown by the student as the Conservative leader left a college he had been visiting.

Carole Walker added that Mr Cameron was unruffled and continued on his way out of the building.
