
A science teacher accused of trying to murder one of his pupils at a Nottinghamshire school with a metal weight is due to go on trial later.Peter Harvey, 50, is accused of attacking the 14-year-old at All Saints' Roman Catholic School in Mansfield in July 2009.
He denies attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent, but has admitted a charge of GBH.
The schoolboy suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.
