Watchdog presenter Matt Allwright will stand in as host of the One Show in the next two weeks, as a replacement for Adrian Chiles is sought.Comedian Paul Merton will also host an episode of the show on 6 May, when Allwright will present Watchdog.
Adrian Chiles quit last week, intending to head to ITV on a four-year contract after his final One Show on 30 April.
Chiles' departure came amid disquiet about a format change to the show, with Chris Evans co-presenting on Fridays.
He said it was "no secret how disappointed" he was at the change, noting that his decision to leave came at an "awkward period for me at the BBC".
Matt Allwright has presented a number of shows for the BBC, including Rogue Traders, Brassed Off Britain, and Fat Nation.
His continuing role on Watchdog means he will not be able to host the One Show on Thursdays, so Have I Got News For You regular Paul Merton was named to stand in.
A host has not yet been named for the following Thursday, 13 May.This article is from the BBC News website. ? British Broadcasting Corporation, The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.
