
A teenager is due to appear in court in connection with the death of a schoolboy whose body was found in woods in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire.Jack Frew, 16, was found dead near a cycle path in the Mossneuk area of the town on Thursday night.
A 17-year-old boy is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court in connection with the death.
Study leave for senior pupils at Duncanrig Secondary, which Jack attended, has been brought forward.
Classes due to take place on Monday and Tuesday were cancelled.
The school has also said it will offfer pupils counselling.
Tribute messages
A message on its website said: "In response to recent events, it has been decided to bring forward study leave for senior pupils.
"Study leave will begin with immediate effect and classes for senior pupils will not run on Monday and Tuesday as originally planned.
"Any pupils who wish access to counselling should contact their guidance teachers by telephone to make arrangements."
More than 5,000 people have joined an internet tribute site set up in memory of Jack. Friends and strangers have posted messages and poems on the Facebook page.
Gillian Christie wrote: "Just went to put some flowers down at the path and there were so many people there crying. Just goes to show how much you were loved by and by so, so many people."
Callum Milne posted: "Can't believe that you're gone we all miss you so much. The world seems so empty without you and there's no fun left.
"I have never and never will meet a better person."
