Police cordoned off the scene as crews rescued the men
Two men suffered serious injuries when a Royal Mail lorry crashed into the front of a Dorset hotel.
Police were called to the 17th Century Mariners Hotel in Lyme Regis at about 0950 BST.
Police said the red DAF lorry collided with a car, then hit a male pedestrian before crashing into the hotel.
The lorry driver and pedestrian were airlifted to hospital. A third man, working inside the hotel, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
A spokesman for Royal Mail said it would co-operate fully with the police.
'Cut free'
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said there had been significant structural damage caused to the hotel.
"We were confronted with a lorry in the front of the Mariners Hotel," a spokeswoman said.
"Crews rescued two people from inside the hotel and one gentleman was cut free from the lorry."
The driver of the lorry, from Bournemouth, was airlifted to Dorset County Hospital.
The pedestrian, from Lyme Regis, was airlifted to a hospital in Exeter with a serious leg injury.
A spokesman for Royal Mail said: "We can confirm that... one of our vehicles was involved in an accident at a hotel in Lyme Regis and our driver was taken to hospital.
"The full detail and circumstances are a matter for the police and we will co-operate fully with them in any future investigation.
"Our concern is for all those involved in this incident."
A cordon was put up around the scene and a number of roads were also closed.
No-one from the hotel was available for comment when contacted by the BBC.
The hotel says on its website that author Beatrix Potter was inspired to write The Tale of Little Pig Robinson while staying at the venue when she was 17 years old.
