The Historical Enquiries Team is expected to reveal new details later of a controversial killing by the Army during the Troubles.
Michael McLarnon, 22, was shot in Etna Drive in Ardoyne, north Belfast, on 28 October 1971 and died next day.
The HET report is expected to reveal that the killing was not, in fact, carried out by the man who admitted it, but by a soldier in a different patrol.
Mr McLarnon's death was the subject of a BBC programme in 2006.
