    Terminally ill boy goes missing

1 December 2010 Last updated at 02:32 ET A terminally ill boy has gone missing from his home in Birmingham.

Thirteen-year-old Hassan Butt, who has an inherited blood disorder, left his home in Arden Road in Aston early on Tuesday, West Midlands Police said.

He was wearing blue jeans, trainers and a red tracksuit top with white stripes down the arm and across the chest.

Hassan must take his medication 18 times a day or he could slip into a coma, his family said. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Sister died He was last seen by a school friend in Aston on Tuesday morning and police said they thought he could be in Aston, Birmingham city centre or near the One Stop shopping centre in Perry Barr.

Hassan's father said: "We are very worried for his health especially in this cold weather.

"Without his medication that he takes 18 times a day we are frightened for his life."

Hassan suffers from argininosuccinic aciduria which causes ammonia to accumulate in his blood.

He was diagnosed from birth and his elder sister died from the same disorder, his family said.
