John Higgins produced a stunning fightback to beat Mark Williams 9-8 and claim his third UK Championship title.
Williams resumed the evening at 6-2 and looked set for victory at 9-7 but the Scot got the required snooker to hit back and set up the dramatic finale.
Higgins struggled in the first session as his opponent knocked in an 82 and 85 but he roared back with two century breaks to give himself a chance.
Both had chances at 9-9 as Higgins bagged his fifth frame in a row to win.
