A motorist had to be cut free from a car when it left the road and careered six feet down an embankment before landing on its roof.
The car came off the A92 in Glenrothes, Fife, shortly before 2230 GMT on Saturday.
Paramedics took the injured driver to the Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline, but their conditon is not known.
A second person managed to get out of the vehicle.
The northbound carriageway of the A92 at the Thornton Bypass was closed to traffic after the incident.
