    40,000 face Dublin airport delays

    23 December 2010 Last updated at 16:33 ET About 40,000 travellers have been stranded after Dublin airport closed because of heavy snow fall.

    About 270 flights have been cancelled. The situation will be reviewed at 2300 BST on Thursday.

    Heavy snow led to the closure of the runway for the second time on Thursday evening.

    Meanwhile, in Belfast, police closed the middle Braniel Road because of treacherous driving conditions.
