Taylor & Van Barneveld crash out

    PDC World Darts Championship
Venue: Alexandra Palace, London Dates: 16 December-3 January
Coverage: Live on Sky Sports, reports and results on BBC Sport website

World champion Phil Taylor and third seed Raymond van Barneveld crashed out in the quarter-finals of the PDC World Championships at Alexandra Palace.

Taylor, the holder and 15-time world champion, was beaten 5-2 by Welshman Mark Webster, who will face number five seed Adrian Lewis in the semi-finals.

"I played the board and not the man," said Webster. "It's the biggest win of my career without a doubt."

Van Barneveld was thrashed 5-1 by Gary Anderson, who now plays Terry Jenkins.

"I was a bit worried when I lost the first set but after I won the second I just battled on," said Anderson.

Dutchman Van Barneveld took the opening set but was blown away by a dominant display from Scotland's Anderson.

    More to follow.
