A man has been arrested after a woman's body was found in a seaside town in Ayrshire.
The 28-year-old was arrested and is being held by police following the discovery in Troon.
The 37-year-old woman's body was discovered in a property in Barassie Street.
Police said a post-mortem examination will be carried out to find out how she died. A report will made to the procurator fiscal.
The woman has not yet been named by police, but a Strathclyde Police spokesman said her relatives had been told of her death.
