Ex-Labour MP Jim Devine has been found guilty on two counts of making dishonest claims on his expenses.
Devine had denied three charges of false accounting over £8,745 of claims for stationery and cleaning.
The ex-MP for Livingston, 57, was found not guilty in relation to two cleaning invoices totalling £360, but found guilty on cleaning and stationery claims totalling £8,385.
Devine nodded as the verdicts were delivered. Sentencing is in four weeks.
He had said he paid a cleaner cash-in-hand and had been advised he could make move money between accounts to cover staff costs.
Devine said the cleaning services had been carried out - but admitted using the wrong invoices to charge for them.
He argued the money claimed for stationery had actually been used to cover staffing costs, and he had been advised by another Labour MP and expenses officials at the Commons Fees Office that that was allowed.
