Kothrud FC and Smackers FC defeated their respective opponents in the Peninsula Land Pune District Football League organised by the Pune District Football Association at the Range Hills Ground on Sunday.
In the second match of the day, Smacker FC trounced Telecom Colony 4-1. Smackers got off to a fiery start and had the majority of the possession . They were rewarded in the 24 th minute when Adnan Ghalib opened the scoring for his team. Ghalib put the ball in to the net on the smart pass from Sohail Sheikh. Then on, the Smackers seemed to be unstoppable. They regularly invaded the rival camp and by the 30 th minute, Smacker had gained a 4-1 lead. Harshad, Sohail Sheikh, Azhar Sheikh and Adnan Ghalib were the goal scorers for the winning team. Earlier, the first match of the day saw Kothrud FC take on Sangam 'C'. Kothrud FC had a bright start to the game and opened the scoring in the 6th minute through striker Amit Kumar.
Sangam 'C' got the equaliser in the 25th minute. Rohan Kalbhor received a good pass from Kunal Dhawale and scored. The match ended 1-1.
