Dharamsala, April 16 -- Put into bat, Kings XI Punjab posted 174 for three against Deccan Chargers in an Indian Premier League match in Dharamshala on Friday. Earlier Deccan Chargers captain Adam Gilchrist won the toss and asked Kings XI Punjab to bat first in an Indian Premier League match here today.
The Chargers, needing a win to keep alive their semifinal hopes, left out injured Harmeet Singh and Herschelle Gibbs, bringing in Rahul Sharma and Mitchell Marsh. The Punjab side, which is already out of the semifinal race, left out Ramesh Powar and Love Ablish in favour of Vikramjeet Malik and Shalabh Srivastava.
With Shaun Marsh in the Kings XI squad, today's match will also be a battle between the Marsh brothers. Brief score: Kings XI Punjab: 174 for 3 in 20 overs (Mahela Jayawardene 93 not out, Kumar Sangakkara 52; Ryan Harris 1/27).
