    India, April 18 -- A public spat between Lalit Modi and Shashi Tharoor has become a scandal, revealing bigger players, personal liasions and political stakes along the way.

    While the Indian Premier League itself has been restricted to newspapers' sports sections, the Tharoor-Modi saga is now firmly entrenched on the front pages. Moreover, it has cast a shadow of doubt over the transparency and accountability of the League itself.
