Pune, Apr 18 (PTI) A football training centre was today launched here by deemed university Bharati Vidyapeeth in association with the famous English club Liverpool. The Abhijit Kadam Football Development Centre, India''s first international training centre for the game, was inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel.
Bharati Vidyapeeth, Cheshire-based international football company Kick Worldwide and Liverpool FC have come together to establish the centre, a media release said. AKFDC endeavors to be the India''s first centre aimed at creating football industry professionals by providing courses in coaching and refereeing apart from building a talented football talent base.
Present at the inauguration were Lok Sabha MP and Indian Olympic Association President Suresh Kalmadi and Chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University and Maharashtra state minister for Forest, Dr Patangrao Kadam. .
