Shailesh Jaiswar won the Every Sunday Rapid Chess Championship for a record 13th time, finishing with a total of 6.5 points, He narrowly edged out Sunny Renju who was second at 6. Jaiswar's arch rival Kiran Panditrao failed to finish in the top five, as he dropped three games in a row after a bright start.
Shailesh beat Dibas Kumar Biswas in the final round to finish on top and extend his incredible winning streak in the tournament.
Ameya Munemane and Sanat Mharolkar won the award for best under-10 and under-14 player respectively, while Siddhali Shetye won best women's player. The award for best veteran went to R.V. Ghanekar, said a press note issued here.
