Bhopal, Apr 23 (PTI) The first All-India Women''s Hockey Tournament, being organised by the Madhya Pradesh Government, commenced at the Aishbagh Stadium here last night with Chandigarh Academy beating star-studded Central Railway, Mumbai 1-0 in the inaugural match. Reena scored the lone goal of the match in the 15th which also earned her the player-of-the-match award.
The tournament was inaugurated by senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament P Sumitra Mahajan in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Sports Minister Tukoji Rao Powar and city Mayor Krishna Gaur. Former India women''s hockey team skipper Sunita Chandra, Olympians Syed Jalaluddin Rizvi, Ashok Kumar and Sameer Dad along with the Madhya Pradesh Sports Director Sanjay Choudhury were also present on the occasion.
