Football: Sky Hawks beat Pune Police

    Sun, Apr 25 04:34 AM

Sky Hawks thrashed Pune Police 4-1 in the Sanna Anna Football Trophy organised by the Range Hills Young Boys and held at the Range Hills Football Ground on Saturday.

Pune Police drew first blood early in the match, as midfielder Raibar threaded the ball through for Prashant Wable to score in the 15 th minute. They held on to this 1-0 lead for the next fifteen minutes, but then Saurav Choure equalized in the 30th for Sky Hawks , getting on the end of Vivek Nagul's pass to make it 1-1.

The goal seemed to rejuvenate the Sky Hawks team, as they began exerting pressure on the Pune Police goal.

The pressure soon paid off as Yeshwant Dogde made it 2-1 five minutes later. Choure then added to his tally, scoring his second goal in the 40 th minute to make the score 3-1 in Sky Hawks' favour.

The rout was capped off by Chadrakant Landge, who scored the fifth goal of the match in the 45 th minute to end any hopes Pune Police had of a comeback.

Giants were adjudged direct winners of the second match of the day, as their opponents Indrayani FC failed to turn up.

In today's fixtures, Tamil United take on Ghorpadi Young Ones, while Chetak FC face off against Jolly Range Hills.
