    Bhajji steals the show

    Sun, Jun 6 05:36 AM

Undoubtedly it was bowler Harbhajan Singh who stole the show during the final of the Sheesh Mahal Cricket Tournament. Though he was not there for the entire match, but ever since he arrived, the entire attention of the crowd shifted towards the stage where he sat as chief guest along with the other guests.

There was a huge applause from a sporting Lucknow crowd when Bhajji and Sreesanth hugged each other when the latter reached the stage to receive the prize for being a part of the runners-up team. It seemed that the two never had any differences.

Keeping in mind the 'tehzeeb' of the city, Harbhajan warmly acknowledged the greetings of the crowd and started his speech with "Lucknow vasiyo ko Salaam, Namaste..." He said that he had played in Sheesh Mahal about 10 years ago and it was an honour playing in such a prestigious tournament. He said that he will also be looking forward to playing in the tournament if he is free during the tournament dates next year.

Praising the efforts of the tournament organisers Sahara India, the Team India player from Punjab said that Sahara was not only supporting cricket but was also promoting other sports as well.

He said that he was happy with the tournament results as the Air India was his team. "I have strong bond with Sahara also, so in a way both the finalist teams were my teams," he further added.

He said that he was very fond of Lucknow and enjoys having kebabs here.
