Bollinger backs Australia to win final two ODI's against England

    Tue, Jun 29 04:45 PM

London, June 29(ANI): Australian fast bowler Doug Bollinger insists that his team's late assault in Sunday's third ODI against England in Manchester has provided the tourists with the confidence to win the final two games.

Australia lost the game by one wicket, but were successful in keeping England under pressure in the last 10 overs by taking six wickets for 18 in 39 balls.

"It is amazing how quickly the game turned, even though we lost, six wickets in nine overs went right on our backs and everyone was really up," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Bollinger, as saying.

"That is the bit of confidence you need to change a whole game, so I think everything is starting to turn around for us," he added.

Bollinger further said that the Australian team had more than enough time to rebuild their confidence levels with Test series against Pakistan and India still to come before the Ashes opener at the Gabba.

"They are one-dayers. Winning is winning, don't get me wrong, but the Ashes are what ... 150 days away. It is different conditions and everyone is always stronger at home and more comfortable playing at home and that is the advantage of the Ashes being in Australia this time," Bollinger said.

"It is harder, faster, bouncier wickets and they are three massive factors that come into our game," he added. (ANI)
