Panaji, Jul 10 (PTI) Former Salgaocar and Sporting Clube de Goa midfielder Micky Fernandes has signed for Goan club Dempo after a year-long stint at Kolkata-based Mohun Bagan. Fernandes, also the former Indian midfielder, who held talks with couple of other clubs before signing for Dempo, said he was happy to come back to Goa and play for Dempo.
Fernandes, who have signed a two year contract, will have to shoulder a lot of responsibility in the midfield in the absence of Climax Lawerence, Clifford Miranda and Anthony Pereira, who are doing duty for National Team, "I am thankful to Dempo''s management and coach Armando Colaco for having reposed faith in me and hoping to do well," stated Fernandes.
