Maintaining their dominence on the local carrom circuit, Tuba and Talib of St. Stephen's School outplayed their respective opponents to claim double titles each on the last day of XII Raj Kumar Babuta Prize Money Ranking Tournament, held at St Stephen's School, Sector 45, Chandigarh.
Talib drubbed top seed Hasan 03-04, 14-06, 10-07 in the final of the junior boys singles final to claim the title. Hasan gave him a tough fight, but Talib managed to win the match. In the men's singles final, Talib overpowered Mubashir 14-00, 15-00, with ease. Meanwhile, Tuba emerged as a star in the women's section, clinching both junior girls and women's singles titles. Farheen was outshined by Tuba by 06-12, 12-6, 0-16 in the girls junior singles final to wear the crown. Both Tuba and Farheen again met each other in the women's singles final, Tuba pipped Farheen 12-00, 23-00 to take the title.

Chess tourney on July 24 and 25 The Chandigarh Chess Association will organise Chandigarh Women Chess Championship on July 24 and 25 at St. Xavier's Sr. Sec. School Sec-44-C, Chandigarh. A team of four players will be selected to represent Chandigarh in the forthcoming National Women Challenger Championship to be held at Assam from August 20 to 28. CCA Cricket Cup for Under-16 on anvilChandigarh Cricket Association (Affiliated to PCA) is going to organise U-16 cricket tournament in the end of the July.The matches will be of 50 overs and five teams will take part in the tournament. Teams: GNPS-36, DP AZAD CA, DAV-8, APJ CA and MCA. The matches will be on league basis while each team will play four of their league matches. Matches will be played at GNPS-36 and DAV-8.
