The Bishop's School Camp defeated the Bishop's Co-ed School Undri in the under-12 category of the Bishops Invitational Football tournament being held at the Bishops ground camp on Wednesday.
Bishop's Camp dominated the entire game and left no chance for the opposition to come back. Bishops started the game well with Manish Sudhambekar giving his team the lead in the 3rd minute of the game.
Following this goal, Bishops won a few corners and a couple of freekicks but failed to convert a single one of them. They were putting the opposition goal under constant pressure and were rewarded for it in the 14th minute when Sudhambekar scored the second goal of the game. Bishops Co-ed School lost all confidence at this point in time and were stuck in their own half and trying to clear their lines.
Bishop's Camp on the other hand were piling on the attacks. They scored their third goal in the 23rd minute through Harren Shah and put the game to bed. Following this goal, Bishops continued to attack the opposition goal mercilessly but could not add to their tally. The referee blew his final whistle soon after and the match ended 3-0.
In the under 14 matches, Hutchings High School created a major upset by defeating much fancied St Vincents by a single goal. Chirag Shahaney scored the solitary goal of the match in the 12th minue of the game. St Vincents tried hard to comback and peppered the opposition goal with attacks, but in vein. The Hutchings garrison remained unbreachable and they won the match 1-0. In another match, Army Public School defeated the VP Magarpatta School 2-0 thanks to a brace from Joginder Singh. Joginder scored in the 22nd and 23rd minute of the game and secured victory for his team.
