Rahul Dravid's injury and the poor performance of the Indian team in South Africa may just result in a recall for Sourav Ganguly.

The team for the Test side will be selected in Mumbai on Thursday and sources suggest the former captain is highly likely to be included in an attempt to bolster the team's batting resources.

Ganguly last played a Test for India nine months ago, which was against Pakistan in Karachi.

The left-hander has one Duleep Trophy century to his name this season and recently scored 43 in a Ranji Trophy match against Punjab in addition to taking three wickets.

India is to play three Test matches from December 15 to January 6 against South Africa.
