    Kumble awaits the Tests

Veteran leg spinner Anil Kumble says he is optimistic about India's chances in the Test series against South Africa starting on Friday.

Jumbo, as he is known in the team, has by now got used to the pressure related to playing for India. But right now even he must be feeling the pressure given how badly the team performed during the one-day series.

He, however, believes that India could have a change in fortunes sooner than later.

"Not many people gave us a chance when we toured Australia. Everyone said we would loose 4-0 even before we went on that tour, but I think it was the best tour India ever played in Australia. I am really positive about the series. If all of us play to our potential then it should be a good series for us," said Kumble.

Kumble has nearly 900 wickets to his name in international cricket, but at the age of 37 time may finally be catching up on his long and illustrious career.

However, he is not yet ready to call it quits just yet. Once he deals with the three Test series against South Africa there's the small matter of the 8 ODI's against West Indies and Sri Lanka and then the big one - the World Cup - an event Kumble hopes to be a part of.

"It's good to be in the scheme of things. It goes to show that you can play one-day game. It is definitely a young man's game but it goes to show experience does count in one-day cricket. I am really happy that I am in the scheme of things. World cup is around the corner so that will be a big event to be part of," he said.
