    Double strike by Sreesanth

Chasing 402 to win the first Test against India, South Africa are 34 for three in the second innings at lunch on day three at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Zaheer Khan, who had a splendid time in the morning with the bat, sent back Herschelle Gibbs for a duck, caught by Sachin Tendulkar at slip.

First innings? wrecker-in-chief S Sreesanth sent back Graeme Smith for just 10 runs. He was brilliantly caught by Virender Sehwag at point.

The bowler then snared Hashim Amla, caught behind by M S Dhoni for 17.

Earlier, VVS Laxman?s 26th Test fifty and his 70-run partnership with Zaheer steered India to a second innings total of 236 runs. A first-innings lead of 165 runs ensured an overall lead of 401.

Resuming on the overnight score of 146 for five, India lost the wickets of overnight batsman M S Dhoni (18) and Anil Kumble (1) in quick succession.

At that time, it seemed that the Proteas pacers would run through the Indian tail. But Zaheer and Laxman had other plans.

The duo put on 70 crucial runs with Laxman top scoring with 73.
    Laxman?s 154-ball knock included 12 boundaries.

He fell to a Makhaya Ntini delivery, caught by Graeme Smith at slip. In the same over, Zaheer was dismissed in similar fashion for a gritty 37 that came off 80 deliveries. His knock included three fours and two sixes.

VRV Singh and S Sreesanth hit some lusty blows to take India past the 400-run lead mark before the Punjab bowler was run out for 11.
