Brett Lee all for monitoring of cricketers' phone calls to check matchfixing

    Sat, Nov 13 05:53 AM

Australian paceman Brett Lee is all for the latest ICC initiative of installing undercover agents to monitor the phone calls of international cricketers to prevent match fixing, even if it means an invasion of privacy.

"The ICC should do whatever it takes to get rid of match fixing", he said at the launch of the Pune academy of the Cricket Education Programme on Friday.

"I have played the game with great integrity and honesty throughout my career and I believe that match fixing should be stamped out by any means necessary", he added.

On the matter of the IPL and the King's XI Punjab contract being terminated, Lee felt that the matter is out of his hands and hopes that the issue can be sorted out.

"This matter is not in my control and all I can do is hope for the best. In the meanwhile I have been focusing on y fitness and I am ready to play", he said.

Even at 34, Lee claims to be fitter than ever and ready to compete for a place in the international team. His eventual aim is to be in the World Cup team. "I don't feel like I am 34 and this is definitely the fittest I have ever been. I am back to bowling at 150 kilometers per hour and would love to represent my team in the world cup. That and playing in the IPL 4 is my aim", he said.
