    Asian Games taekwondo: Four Indians lose in quarterfinals

    Guangzhou, Nov 18 (IANS) India's Sandeep Kundu, P. Anand, Latika Bhandari and Shantibala Devi lost their respective quarterfinal bouts of the taekwondo at the Asian Games here Thursday.

    In the men's 87 kg section, Kundu lost 4-18 against Uzbekistan's Akmal Irgashev. Kundu lost the first round 8-2, in the second round he was down 1-3 and suffered heavily 1-7 in the third round. P. Anand lost 3-5 to Jordan's Nabil Hasan in a closely contested quarterfinal of the men's under 80 kg.

    Shantibala lost 0-13 to Chinese Hou Yuzho in the quarterfinals of women under 57 kg, and in the women's under 53 kg Latika lost to Thai Sarita Phongsri 0-6.
