The second day of the first Ashes test between Australia and England started on time on Friday despite early morning rain in Brisbane.
The sun was breaking through dark cloud cover as Simon Katich (15) and Shane Watson (9) walked out to resume Australia's first innings on 25 without loss in reply to England's 260.
The series began with a bang on Thursday when Australian pace bowler Peter Siddle took six wickets, including only the third Ashes hat-trick in the last century, to rip through England's middle and lower order.
England will be hoping the noticeably more humid conditions will help fast bowler James Anderson get some swing going at the Gabba as they continue their bid to win a first Ashes series on Australian soil for 24 years.
