    Himmat tied 8th in King''s Cup

    Khon Kaen (Thailand), Nov 26 (PTI) Indian golfer Himmat Rai turned in a sedate two-under 70 to lie tied eighth after the second round of the King''s Cup golf tournament here today. Himmat, who carded 69 yesterday, took his two-day total to five-under 139 at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club here.

    Overnight tied sixth, Anirban Lahiri, however, had a difficult day as the Kolkata golfer brought home a two-over 74 to slip to tied 23rd. Among others, Amardip Malik carded a successive one-under 71 to be the second best placed Indian at tied 17th with a total of two-over 142.

    Firoz Ali returned an improved card of level-par 72 to sneak inside the cutline, which was decided at three-over 147, at tied 63rd. Gurki Shergill carded three-over 75 to miss the cut at five-over 149.

    At the top, Prom Meesawat of Thailand shared the second round lead with Australia''s Tony Carolan. Prom, who has been struggling with a shoulder injury in the past two years, posted a five-under 67, while overnight leader Carolan returned with a 69 for a two-day total of nine-under 135.
