    We are showing discipline: Christian

The Deccan Chargers camp is happy that it is doing the right things.

The away win against Delhi Daredevils at the Ferozeshah Kotla here came as a huge relief for Chargers, which had only two points from four matches before Tuesday's game.

Talking about the team's performance, Daniel Christian said, “We are starting to do a lot of our disciplines a lot better. We built some really good partnerships with the bat, which we have not been able to do. We bowled well and our fielding is improving every game.”

    Be patient

Christian said the plan, on the slow and low track, was to be patient and take the pace off the ball. He was delighted that the ploy to give the ball to part-time off-spinner Shikhar Dhawan clicked for his side.

“Warner's wicket was a huge one. We wanted someone to bowl off-spin. It was a lucky one (to introduce Dhawan) and it worked,” said Christian.

    Pitch not to be blamed

Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag refused to blame the pitch for the defeat. “The pitch has been like that for some years. We have been practising on this wicket. It is not that it was very good and suddenly became like this. It is difficult to chase 160-170 on this wicket. You have to apply yourself, you have to give a good start to your team,” said Sehwag.

Sehwag backed left-arm seamer Irfan Pathan's performance. “He is coming back from injury and will take some time. He is coming back after one-and-a-half years. He picked up an early wicket and in four overs he gave away just 28 runs. So he is getting better day by day.”
