Gold Coast wins first match of season

The Suns came back after trailing by 40 points in the third quarter to kick the final five goals of the match.

After the game, Port Adelaide coach said his club was the "laughing stock" of the AFL for losing to the struggling Suns.

Richmond beat North Melbourne 17.10 (112) to 14.19 (103) Sunday. In other matches, David Ellard and Jordan Russell kicked late goals as Carlton beat Adelaide 11.19 (85) to 12.7 (79).

On Thursday, St. Kilda also got its first win of the season by beating the Brisbane Lions 13.11 (89) to 11.10 (76). Adam Schneider kicked three goals for the Saints, while Mitch Clark had four for Brisbane.
