England captain James Graham will play for the Canterbury Bulldogs in Australia's National Rugby League for three years from 2012.
The 25-year-old prop has spent the last nine seasons with St. Helens in England's Super League but said in a statement Wednesday he had always wanted to test himself in the NRL, considered the world's toughest league competition.
Graham said leaving St. Helens had been the biggest decision of his rugby league career as he had been on the club's books since he was 11 years old. He looked for an NRL contract and "the Bulldogs just seemed right from day one," he said.
Bulldogs coach Kevin Moore said Graham was a player of the highest quality and would make a big impression in the NRL.
