Chennai, Jun 5 (PTI) Maratha Warriors scored their second consecutive win over Chennai Spikers while Kerala Killers defeated Yenam Tigers on the second day of the Indian Volleyball league, here tonight.
For the second day running, Chennai Spikers were found wanting at crucial times in one of the best matches of the day which they lost 15-25 25-21 26-24 16-25 15-10 to Maratha Warriors.
Earlier, Kerala team members Naveen Raja Jacob and Philip, who was adjudged as the best libero in first leg Bangalore were at their best, while Sakthikumar, also a libero of Yenam Tigers played well throughout the match.
Kerala Killers won at 25-22 18-25 25-19 25-22 but were in danger of losing the fourth set when they muffed with their service games.
On the other hand, tall and lanky Subba Rao also missed few chances but Vaishnav and K.P Shameem came up with decisive attacking game to win the match for Kerala.
