Latest from Sports - Gangjee misses cut at Wichita Open

Wichita (US), Jun 18 (PTI) India''s Rahil Gangjee missed the halfway cut with rounds of 73 and 74 in the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open golf tournament here.

Gangjee, who was well placed at two-under after 12 holes in the first round when play was stopped early, slid when play resumed the next day.

He ended the first day at 73 as he found two bogeys and a double in the space of three holes.

But in the second round, the Indian began disastrously with two double bogeys and two bogeys to be six-over after 10 holes. Therafter, he found three birdies on 11th, 14th and 15th but it was too late.

Roger Tambellini shot a second-round 65 and was 12-under 130 after 36 holes, one shot better than three of the 2011 Nationwide Tour''s best players --Australia''s Matthew Goggin (65), Troy Kelly (64) and Kyle Thompson (64).

A total of 65 players made the 36-hole cut, which came at two-under-par 140, which was the lowest 36-hole cut in relation to par thus far on the 2011 Nationwide Tour.
