WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — France-based players Sireli Bobo, Jone Qovu and Joshua Matavesi have been replaced in Fiji's squad to prepare for this year's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Bobo, Qovu and Matavesi, who all play for Racing Metro, were selected in a 43-man squad but omitted when it was enlarged to 50.
Bobo, who has played 10 tests for Fiji, and Qovu, who has been capped nine times, both announced their unavailability last week for personal reasons. Matavesi, who has played five times for Fiji, has opted to focus on club commitments.
Players added to the squad were Asaeli Boko, currently with the English club Sale, Iliesa Keresoni, Josefa Domolailai, Saracens utility Kameli Ratuvou and London Irish winger Michael Tagicakibau.
