London, July 9(ANI): England fast bowler Stuart Broad has been dropped from the squad for today's fifth and final ODI against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford after weeks of struggling for form.
Broad is likely to be replaced by all-rounder Samit Patel.
"Sometimes you need that bit of luck to go your way and Stuart hasn't really had that," The Sun quoted skipper Alastair Cook, as saying.
"He'll probably be honest and say he hasn't bowled as well as he can do," he added.
Broad had taken just 10 wickets for England this summer, and just two in four matches of the ongoing ODIs series.
The 25-year-old has now been sent to Nottinghamshire in an attempt to recapture his form in time for the First Test against India on July 21. (ANI)
