SYDNEY (AP) — Australia's rugby players will share almost 5 million Australian dollars ($5.3 million) or more than 163,000 Australian dollars ($175,000) each if they win the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand this year.
The Australian Rugby Union and Players' Association said on Friday they had agreed to a A$4.91 million bonus pool which will be shared among the 30 Wallabies if they lift the Webb Ellis Trophy in Auckland in October.
Potential squad members have agreed to split the pot 30 ways, ensuring each member of a World Cup-winning Australian team will receive 163,533.33 Australian dollars ($175,920).
Australia is currently ranked No.2 in the world behind Cup hosts New Zealand.
