London. July 22 (ANI): Open Championship winner Darren Clarke suffered a defeat of different kind, losing in a pint-downing contest against fellow Northern Irish major winners.
Clarke finished last after US Open winner Rory McIlroy. Graeme McDowell turned out victorious winning the pint-downing contest at a party in Portrush in Northern Ireland.
"Darren gave up. I knew I wouldn't win, but I was determined to finish it," McIlroy was quoted as saying by The Sun.
Clarke donated his gold medal to Royal Portrush - his adopted hometown club in Northern Ireland earlier this week. (ANI)
