    South Australia left out their spearhead Shaun Tait and chose to bat against Kolkata Knight Riders in Hyderabad. Tait, who conceded 53 off four overs in his previous game, was one of two changes South Australia made to the XI that lost to the Warriors, the other being the legspinner Adil Rashid.

    South Australia picked for two medium-pacers as replacements - Gary Putland and Kane Richardson. The Knight Riders made no changes to the team that lost to Somerset. Both teams are searching for their first win of the competition, having lost one match each.
