Justin Kemp, Cape Cobras captain, backed his bowlers to defend a target against Trinidad & Tobago in what is a must-win contest for both teams in Chennai. Kemp chose to bat on a pitch that has played slow and low throughout the tournament and has proved tricky for batsmen to play their shots on.
Cobras made one change to their XI, bringing in allrounder Rory Kleinveldt to replace Vernon Philander. Trinidad & Tobago were unchanged from their first win of the competition, a surprise victory over Chennai Super Kings.
