Apoorva IT Solutions, a Hyderabad-based reseller of hardware and software products has signed an exclusive distribution partnership with JLT Mobile Computers, the Rs 810 crore Swedish manufacturer of rugged computers.
The agreement marks Apoorva’s entry into the distribution space. Businesswise, Apoorva IT has three separate divisions---enterprise and SMBs, software and rugged computers.
“One of our customers in the defense sector was looking for rugged vehicle computers, but with support service in India. We looked at Tetra, GammaTech and AMREL besides JLT. JLT won hands-on because of its product and service quality,” said Muralidhar Reddy, Managing Partner, Apoorva.
JLT has three in-vehicle PC models and one tablet model, all of which are now available in the country. The products are targeted at defense, PSUs, transportation, mining and construction. “Entry level JLT PCs would be sold for Rs 200,000. We see a good potential in India and expect to reach around 100 units by end of 2011; and 500 units per annum by 2014,” added Reddy.
The specialty of JLT computers and tablets is that they work in extreme conditions like– 20 degree centigrade to +50 degree centigrade, and can withstand high vibrations and shocks.
Apoorva has clients such as Ashok Leyland in the automobile industry and DRDO in defense among others. The company is penning distribution strategy for JLT. “It will be direct sales and through sub-distributors. We are in talks with sub-distributors in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi and Pune. We will have a complete partner set by Q1 2011,” Reddy said.
A 12 year old company, Apoorva clocked Rs ten crore in revenues in 2009-10. With JLT in its fold, it expects to cross Rs 15 crore in 2010-11.
