HD Moore had nothing to do with the DLL vulnerability, so why on earth have you asked him for comment?The DLL vulnerability was first discovered and post on Bugtraq mailing list years ago, but hadn't been patched at that point.
Nothing like taking credit for something that was nothing to do with your own research.
Also, HD Moore's so-called month of browser bugs that somehow got him famous. He discovered none of the vulnerabilities himself. He used what is called a fuzzing tool, to automatically discover browser vulnerabilities. He just sat back and let the program find vulnerabilities for him.
What HD is supposed to be respected for is anyones guess. He is a ruby programmer on steroids, that's all.
I await for a decent hack from him that he soley discovered manually, off his own back, with absoutely no research from anyone else.
He goes around the internet looking for vulnerability tips from 'other' more respected hackers, and then jumps infront of them and takes the limelight, by offering to help them with exploit development.
Because he is a high profile name, he takes all the credit in the media, and folks who aren't aware think its his discoveries.
Like it says in this article, ' and other security firm '... you'll probably find the people referenced as ' other security firm ' as being the actual group to be credited for the original discovery, not HD or R7.
This is what he does, he finds nothing for himself, he piggybacks off others work, and takes the public credit.
He's been doing it for years and is still doing it to this day.
