JEDDAH: The Majed bin Abdul Aziz Society for Development and Social Services has launched its first sustainability report. The not-for-profit organization also announced the second Social Development Forum, which will take place in June with the participation of experienced speakers locally and internationally.
It announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with Al-Jazeera bank.
The report was launched in the presence of the society’s chairman Prince Mishaal bin Majed. The society was awarded the top score by the Global Reporting Initiative for the sustainability report.
The report assesses the sustainability of the society in comparison with other similar organizations, regionally and internationally.
It also outlines a strategic plan for the coming years and evaluates overall performance and achievements.
A number of partners and sponsors were honored at the launch, including the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Saudi Binladin Group, Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors and many others.
“The social, economic and environmental changes witnessed in Saudi Arabia are part of a global change. We believe in the importance of the individuals acting for profit and non-profit organizations in adapting to these changes,” said Prince Mishaal. “This is accomplished through the continuous support of government institutions and private sector.”
Many participants said the sustainability report demonstrates the society’s commitment to transparency. The society was founded in 1419H (1998) by Prince Majed.
