    Three arrests over couple murder

25 April 2011 Last updated at 05:35 ET Three men have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of an elderly Italian couple in Wolverhampton.

A double murder investigation was started after Guiseppe Massaro, 80, and his wife Caterina, 77, were found dead in Woden Road, Park Village on Friday.

West Midlands Police said two Wolverhampton men aged 32 and 21 and a 30-year-old man from Birmingham were arrested overnight.

They added a post-mortem examination will continue on Monday.

The arrests come as special prayers were held in memory of the couple at the church they used to attend.

A mass was held at 1800 BST on Sunday in St Patrick's Church in New Cross.

'Sadly missed' On Sunday the pair's family said they were "devastated" by their loss.

In a statement released by the West Midlands force, the family said: "Words cannot describe the devastation that has struck our family.

"Their lives will be sadly missed and this has severely affected our family and a lot of our friends."

The pair, who were last seen alive at 2000 BST on Thursday, had two children and a number of grandchildren and moved to England in 1960.
